Water Quality and Your Land: A Primer for Women Farmers & Landowners

6/26/2017

No one wants to fertilize the river! Join us for a morning discussion with Dr. Laura Christianson about how nutrients move through our crops and soil and how we can keep them where we want them! We’ll tour area farms in the afternoon to learn about how local farmers are being proactive about water quality.

Optional field tour—
Transportation is provided. Please dress for the weather & wear appropriate shoes.

Are nitrates leaving my farm?
Collect some water from a stream, field tile or any place where water leaves farmland & we’ll tell you the nitrate concentration. You don’t have to tell us where the water came from! (Collect it within 24 hours of the event, and keep it cool).
